I’d be happy to be that Search professional you call on but, just in case you’re researching, please be sure you thoroughly check out your Colorado SEO Expert with the following advice. In a world in which AI has disrupted many industries (and it’s just getting started), it was just a matter of time before it turned the Search Engine Optimization industry topsy-turvy. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is no longer is no longer simply the skills and experience it takes to get your business found on Google. Now it takes AI (Artificial Intelligence) Search Engine Optimization. AI Overviews answer the searcher’s query. Though Google Ads, and in some cases, Local Service Ads (Google Guaranteed), appear in the top rankings on Google, not all companies can afford the strategy of paid ads. Even the map pack will eventually go away to be replaced by Local Service Ads – those companies willing to pay Google for leads that range in cost from $25 on up, depending on the industry you’re in. Service-based companies (HVAC, roofing, electrical, etc.), Realtors, Law Firms (in the U.S.) can qualify for Local Service Ads, once they pass the verification process that Google has. So where does that leave organic search? And how does the typical SEO agency get their clients found high in the rankings if the rankings continually evolve away from the traditional way of Search of the past 26 years? It’s more important than ever before to hire the right Colorado SEO expert who continually keeps up with the latest new changes that Google is rolling out and experimenting with. I’ve updated this blog post to include tips to help you, the business owner, easily figure out who is the best Colorado SEO expert (Colorado AISEO expert) to hire. Check out my tips below. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation now 1. Can you find your Colorado SEO Expert in the top ORGANIC search results in Google and Bing? (This is called a SERP: Search Engine Ranking Position). If you can, that’s great. You should work with someone who walks their talk. But don’t stop there. What does the search result actually say? Is it gibberish, like a bunch of keywords running together in a sentence? (Not good.) Or does the search result read like a thoughtful statement? It takes skill to write an enticing, thoughtful statement and have it appear as the actual search result. Here’s a recent screenshot image of our Search Engine Ranking Position for the keyword phrase “Colorado SEO Expert”: Beware that, as of 2020, Google began rewriting 62.78% of the meta descriptions of pages that it uses. The rest of the time, Google uses other information it finds on your pages and makes that be your search result. Red flag: if you see a company that paid for a Google Ad in order to be found on page one for “SEO” services but you don’t see them in the organic (non-paid) search results, don’t add them to your list.   2. Bing is important because it’s currently the second most used search engine behind Google with a growing 11.19% – the highest I’ve seen it in 25 years of studying search engines. Google currently has 80.74% of market share of Search.  Bing is also used by Alexa.  “Alexa, who is the top Colorado SEO Expert?” Maybe folks won’t ask Alexa such a question yet. Instead, they would use Alexa for home-related questions (“Alexa, where is the nearest dry cleaners?”). No matter what: you should be aware of voice searches impacting your visibility online. Therefore, do be sure you do your homework there, as well. Can you find your Colorado SEO Expert in the top search results in Bing? If so, that’s great. That means she or he has strategy for Bing, as well as Google.   3. Does the Colorado SEO Expert have a blog with numerous articles about SEO, social media marketing, digital marketing and other related topics? Does she or he actually help the reader or are all the blog posts self-serving? If they have a blog filled with helpful SEO blog posts then add that person to your list of candidates to consider.   4. Don’t put all your marketing eggs in the baskets of Google and Bing. Be sure you work with a Search Engine Optimization Expert who is also knowledgeable about social media; blogging or content marketing; email marketing; SMS text message marketing; video marketing ; web design and marketing in general. This type of expert will be able to give you a comprehensive approach to your visibility efforts in all of your marketing. They should be able to show you live results of Organic Search growth in Google Analytics, like this client of ours (below). In a 3-month period, my team and I grew Sessions (Visits) to their website by 469.41% over the same time period the previous year. 5. Be sure to read the reviews of the search marketing expert you’re considering working with. The reviews give you insights into how the SEO expert or SEO agency works. The SEO reviews should speak to the growth the SEO expert gained for the clients. Those are just a few tips to help you figure out who to speak with about your SEO needs. If you have any questions about how I can help you grow your business with my Search Engine Optimization skills, please call me at 970-302-6994 or fill out this contact form. 6. Educate yourself. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has thoroughly disrupted the world of SEO and some SEO experts, SEO agencies’ strategies haven’t survived

Back then, I predicted that Google would be the Yellow Pages of the 21st century. I got laughed at a lot by business owners who didn’t believe in the power of SEO yet. And I don’t blame them for laughing. It was quite a new concept back then. With nearly three decades of experience studying search and especially, Google, I know what works, what doesn’t work and what’s coming. Google My Business Tips

Google My Business Tips

These Google My Business Tips are simple, quick tips you can implement on your own. You might be wondering: “why do I have to have a Google My Business Page?” (Sidenote: in 2022, Google change the name to be: Google Business Profile). Here’s a common scenario: Consumer “Sally” is new to your city (or she’s not new to your city but looking for a better solution) and looking for a hair stylist to color her hair. She’s done her homework and read reviews of local hair salons in Google and Yelp. She’s narrowed her choices down to two hair salons. Here’s What the Typical Consumer Does When Deciding Between Two Businesses for the Same Service or Product She Googles (searches in Google) each hair salon’s business name to see what their overall online reputation is. One hair salon has good or neutral search results and numerous photos of the business on their Google My Business profile (aka: Google Business Profile). There are pictures of their staff, customers’ before and after photos, inside pictures of their salon, outside pictures of their salon; and numerous photos of the salon owner in action, happily interacting with and serving her customers. In all the pictures, people look genuinely happy. The business has a 4.9 average rating with 134 Google reviews by customers. Then Sally Consumer Googles her other choice. That hair salon has a Google My Business page, too. But there’s only one photo. It’s a little blurry. It’s a user-submitted photo of the building sign. No other photos. Sally did visit their website. In fact, she visited both of the hair salons’ websites and they were each fairly nice and detailed with pricing. But Sally feels better choosing the hair salon that had numerous photos of happy people in their Google My Business page that went hand-in-hand with the numerous positive reviews. She felt better about that salon than she did about the other. The one with numerous photos on their Google My Business page seemed to care about what their prospective customers would find when people searched for a hair salon. The owner replied in a thoughtful manner to each of her reviews.  And so they actively managed their Google My Business page. Your Google Home Page Is Your Online Reputation When new people are thinking of possibly spending money with your business, and they already now your business name, they’ll most likely do a Google search based on your business name. You should do a search for your business name, too, and review the results. Think of the search results as being like your Google Home Page. Your Google Home Page is your online reputation (basically). The best place to begin managing your online reputation is to actively manage your Google My Business profile (aka: Google Business Profile). Follow my tips below to make sure your Google My Business profile is accurate and helpful to future prospective customers.  I hope you find these tips helpful. Google My Business Tips From a laptop or desktop computer: go to Google; sign in; and type your business name into the search box. You should see the knowledge graph for your company appear on the right side of the search results. Make sure your business’s name, address and phone number (NAP) are correct. If you’ve never edited your own GMB profile before, read about it in Google: Edit your business listing in Google. If you need to claim your business listing: sign into Google and click this link: Request Ownership. Depending on how quickly the current owner replies to the email that Google will send to them, and if they will give you ownership, you’ll then be able to edit your business listing. Keep reading now so you can apply my tips.   Make sure your business is in the best category possible. If you own a restaurant that services alcohol, your best category is “Restaurant” and not “Bar.” You’ll be able to mention that you have a bar in your description.   Not sure if you have a business that qualifies to have a Google My Business page? Google has a simple rule for this:   Eligible businesses In order to qualify for a Google My Business listing, a business must make in-person contact with customers during its stated hours. Ineligible businesses The following businesses aren’t eligible for a business listing: Rental or for-sale properties such as vacation homes, model homes, or vacant apartments. Sales or leasing offices, however, are eligible for verification.   An ongoing service, class, or meeting at a location that you don’t own or have the authority to represent.   Lead generation agents or companies.   Read more: https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en More Google My Business Tips: When your prospective customers find your business in Google and find your GMB profile, the first thing they’ll look for are your reviews. (Check out DaGama Digital Marketing Agency Google Reviews). What if you don’t have any reviews? Your prospective customers don’t want to be the “guinea pig” or seemingly the first to try out your services, therefore, they will most likely move on to their next choice. Worst cast scenario: what do you do when you have one review and it’s a negative review? Ask yourself what this says about your company. In a world that’s increasingly driven by blockchain Trust is the new currency, would YOU do business with a company that only has one Google review and it’s a negative review? You just answered “no” so now what? Read on, dear business owner, for my next tip. What About Negative Reviews? A negative review is an opportunity for you to shine in the eyes of current customers and potential customers. A complaint is an opportunity to make things right and satisfy the complainer. All of your reviews should ideally receive a unique, thoughtful and sincere reply, however, with a negative review, you must especially reply in a thoughtful, sincere and graceful manner. Each negative review is completely unique and therefore it’s difficult to advise you, however, generally

How To Choose An SEO Agency or SEO Expert

how to choose an seo agency or seo expert

Choosing an SEO AGENCY or SEO Expert to the do the important work of search engine optimization of your website can be a much easier process when you empower yourself with a little knowledge. This checklist gives you that power and saves you time and money. How To Choose An SEO Agency or SEO Expert First: do the obvious: go to Google and type in these keyword phrases: (Fill in your city) Greeley SEO Expert (Fill in surrounding cities) Fort Collins SEO Expert or Loveland SEO Expert (These are the cities I live in and do business with, so, as an SEO Expert, I’d better walk my talk!) Take note of who shows up in the top search results. But PLEASE: don’t stop there. Next: click on each search result and read a few pages of the websites to make sure the SEO Expert or SEO Agency is CREDIBLE and TRUSTWORTHY. The content should be college-level reading and not sound repetitious. There should be enough information that allows you to make a good decision. Do the sentences make sense or are they nonsense? You’d be surprised at how many people and companies write content that is solely for the purpose of fooling Google’s algorithms into thinking they are legitimate pages of valuable content. That’s why Google periodically runs filters, in addition to its algorithms, that rid their data of what it deems as spammy and/or not very valuable content. If you worked with a Search Engine Optimization Agency that linked you to bad neighborhoods (spammy websites) just for the sake of having a link to your site, you’ve probably suffered a drop in your search results. Check if there’s a blog with helpful and easy-to-understand articles about SEO and other online marketing and visibility tips – that’s a really good sign this person is knowledgeable. No blog? Hmmmm…. you might want to skip that candidate. Check to see if the SEO Expert has testimonials and/or examples of clients they have successfully placed in TOP SEARCH RESULTS in Google and Bing. Some SEO professionals are protective of their clients or have client confidentiality agreements but should at least state in their websites that they can supply references and actual live search results when you call or meet with them. There should be some proof that the SEO Expert has gotten results for their clients – especially in Local Search. The SEO Expert or SEO Agency should be dominating its local search (city names and the state you live in). If she or he can do this, then they should be able to do it for you, too. And just like you would check online consumer reviews of a restaurant you would spend $20 bucks in, you’d better do the same thing with an agency you’re about to invest thousands of dollars in: Google the name of the business and see how many positive search results there are.Take note of anyone who has more than one search result on page one in Google. That’s a Badass SEO Expert and you should definitely interview that person in your final list of candidates. Ask: Is the SEO work done in-house or is it “farmed-out” to a foreign country or even another agency in the U.S.? It’s important to work with an SEO Expert who has the time to pay attention to the details of YOUR project, rather than overseeing hundreds or thousands of their clients. Find out who is going to take care of you. Is that person an expert or an intern? After you’ve narrowed down your list to three candidates, make an appointment to interview each one (also, see how timely their response is). During the interview, the SEO Expert should be able to explain how she or he gets results for their clients; show you actual live search results; and be able to explain their SEO work in such a way that you can understand. Similar to an auto technician fixing your vehicle: you should be shown what’s going on with your engine (your website) and parts (code); be informed how the work will be done (what’s on-page optimization and what’s going to be done off-page for optimization – more of that in Part 2 of this article); who will do the work and then you should be shown the work when completed. More importantly: be shown the results, after a realistic amount of time. If someone says the words “we guarantee we’ll get you on page one” be wary. No one can guarantee that. Not even a Google engineer. There are so many algorithms, filters, on-page optimization and off-page optimization (social media profiles, directories, blogs), strategies and other factors that are beyond control of one person, that on no one can guarantee top search results-unless referring to Ad Campaigns in which you pay Google for top placement. And even then, this type of work takes talent and experience (and a lot of YOUR money) to get the top PAID ADVERTISEMENT for a popular keyword for you. And some of your future customers completely ignore those ads. They simply prefer the organic search results because the perception is that your company must be good because here it is on page 1 in Google in natural search results. Now You Know How To Choose An SEO Agency or SEO Expert Now you have some helpful tips to empower yourself to get found in Google by first choosing the right person to be your SEO Expert. Next week, in Part 2 of this article, I’ll share other critical things you should be sure to check before you sign that contract and give your credit card information to that company. Today’s tips will empower you to make a much better decision than had you not known about them. What questions do YOU have as you search for your Search Engine Optimization Expert?
